Let's take a deeper dive into one of the most common homebuyer mistakes: making a big purchase before closing.

When I warn buyers not to make big purchases during the loan process, some think I'm telling them to live on ramen for a month. Not at all. You don't need to change your normal routine.

What I mean is anything unusual - something that requires new credit, or a big chunk of your savings. That's what can throw off your approval.

And look, sometimes life happens. If your car dies or your AC gives out, you may have no choice. In those moments, reach out to us before you buy if you can. It's not the first time we've seen it, and we can often help minimize the impact.

And remember ??????????? it's always okay to ask. We're here to help you get home.
